About Hemdat

A small religious community located amidst the sweeping desert landscapes of the eastern Jordan Valley, Hemdat was first established in 1979 as an army outpost and later revitalized as a residential community. Offering beautiful, picturesque views stretching from the Dead Sea to Mount Hermon, Hemdat holds both strategic importance for Israel and natural beauty. Today, Hemdat, known for its strong sense of camaraderie and mutual responsibility, has grown to a community of more than 45 families. Despite its isolation, with its close-knit character and pioneering spirit, Hemdat continues to remain a thriving and enduring community!
