Ovnat Youth – August 2019
How do you define community?
One of the hardest things to convey about the communities in Judea and Samaria is their sense of “community”. How a neighborhood, is far more than just houses where people live. Every community is more like an extended family. Children in the community know they can get help from any adult they meet on the street. The families depend on one another for strength, and for security. That in turn creates an atmosphere where they rely on, need, and genuinely care for each other. This is especially true and more evident in the smaller communities where every family member is vital to helping the community thrive. Each person plays a key role in fulfilling their God-given commandment to possess the land.
Teens in Ovnat are counting on you
In small isolated communities like Ovnat, it is vitally important to create a place for teens to call their own. A place where they can meet up with friends for a fun board game, schedule a craft night, or eat a small meal together. Without this Youth Center, the teens have nowhere to go. It is too far and the roads are too dangerous to go to Jerusalem. The families in Ovnat know how important it is to give their teens a place to connect, feel needed, be able to contribute, and just have fun! This keeps them connected to their community and prevents boredom that can lead to delinquent behavior.
Ovnat is asking for you to invest in their teens. The teens are highly motivated and they love living on the shores of the Dead Sea. They have already painted the walls, but they are waiting to fill the space with all the things that will enable the center to come alive. They need furniture, games, and books. Your donation today will furnish the Youth Center in Ovnat with everything they need. Will you let the teens in Ovnat know how much you care?
