Heat for Senior Citizens in Samaria – February 2018
Baby, It’s Cold Outside.
For most people snow and cold are a mere inconvenience during the winter months. Children usually look forward to snow with delight, as it means sledding, snowmen, hot cocoa and an unexpected day off from school. But for families who are living in poverty, cold winter months are the hardest to endure. While snow is rare in Israel, the mountain tops of Judea and Samaria are very cold and windy in winter and families often live in homes with insufficient insulation. Heating during the winter months is crucial, and a matter of survival for very young children, and seniors. They are susceptible to disease and are at risk for complications from even a simple cold. Heating prices have risen and it is not unusual to meet a family who does not heat their home because they simply can’t afford to. Some don’t even have proper warm clothing or blankets to offer extra warmth during the harsh season.
You Can Give Them Warmth!
We read in James: “If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?” Families in Samaria are struggling this winter — you can make a difference and give them hope. You can put action to your faith, by not merely saying ‘be warm’. Your donation will ensure that they have what they need to stay warm.
Your donation today will provide funds to pay for heaters and radiators. It will also buy blankets and warm coats for families who need a helping hand during this cold winter season. Your donation today will provide physical warmth and a warm feeling of being loved to needy families and senior citizens who make their home in the mountains of Samaria!
