Hermesh Security – January 2020
Keeping Families Safe
Hermesh is one of the most isolated communities in Samaria. Located in the far northern area of this Biblical region, Hermesh boasts magnificent scenery and wonderfully determined pioneering people. Hermesh is an island oasis in the middle of hostile territory. Just a few weeks ago, the community was closed for most of a day to all visitors because of an important military exercise that was taking place in the area.
In spite of the danger, the pioneers who first settled on top of this mountain, remained here even after terrorism struck. But they paid a terrible price. Three residents were murdered during the Second Intifada. But the people of Hermesh are determined that terror will not win. The IDF is vigilant in the area and in recent years, more families have joined this small community.
Proper Equipment is Vital
The people of Hermesh know they must keep their residents safe. They desperately need new two-way radios for the Rapid Response Team and a new jeep to patrol the community’s perimeter to prevent any further tragedy.
Hermesh is asking you to help them purchase the vital emergency equipment they need for their volunteer Rapid Response Team. Having the ability to communicate with every team member quickly and efficiently saves lives. And a new patrol jeep will ensure that emergency responders can arrive quickly in any crisis. The ongoing vigilance of regular patrols using this same jeep, will prevent hostile infiltrators from entering the community. Your donation today, may well save a life!
