Zufim Emergency – May 2018
Keeping Israel Safe
When you stand in Zufim the first thing you notice is the view. The community is perched on the edge of a steep bluff, and just below the community is the Palestinian city of Kalkilya. If you look beyond the minarets that adorn the mosques in Kalkilya you can see the glistening waters of the Mediterranean. If you glance to the north you can see the skyscrapers of Tel Aviv.
This is the community that Shmuel calls home. It is here that he and his wife Michal have chosen to raise their young children. Why? Because Shmuel knows that by living here they are walking out prophecy. Ezekiel prophesied that the Jewish people would rebuild the waste places, and Isaiah spoke of the mountains blooming again. Shmuel is living the fulfilment of those ancient words in Zufim!
Hostile Neighbors Are A Reality
In 1995, Kalkilya was transferred to the Palestinian Authority. Since then it has been a breeding ground of hate, intolerance, and terror, and over the years many terrorists have come from Kalkilya. Zufim is in a strategic location because it stops terrorists who would attempt to access Tel Aviv and the major cities along the coastal plain. Of course, living near neighbors who are so filled with hate is not easy. For that reason, security is always a top priority. And that is why the people of Zufim are asking for your help.
Your donation today will provide vital surveillance cameras to protect Shmuel and his family and all their neighbors and friends living in Zufim. These cameras are the first line of defense against a terrorist entering the community with murderous intentions. You can help protect Shmuel and his family as they follow God’s calling to rebuild the waste places and make the desert bloom. What was once desolate and barren is today a thriving Jewish community. Stand with Shmuel and the people of Samaria today!
